She travelled to many countries, so I am sure she picked up a little of the language from each place, but I seriouslty doubt she put any serious time into learning any of the languages fluently, but I could be wrong on that. Rob Fay or John Long either one would be the best to answer this question.

If so she could have picked up a little from him and her time in Italy; she certainly wasn't fluent. JL

Gia really loved this neice, I notice...she was very consistent all along in caring for her
When Gia had no money, she actually used her food stamps to spoil this niece for some fun....I read it in the book and was touched quite abit....it meant alot because it really showed what Sue was saying all along .....Gia was a nice person deep down....she meant no harm

I bet he taught her to not take shit from anyone. Good for him.

My greatest memory ...The 1st.. when she was finally clean.. It was Thanksgiving ( I only new her for 6 years)This was he 5th year... and she sat w/ me at kathy"s table and told me that that was the 1st time she had spoken to me sober..( After the last time at eagleville). The other time agiain at Thanksgivng is when Joe,Jacki(in her car seat) & I was pregnant w/ Jessica..I had baked pies for my parents & Kathy... Mind you ..I' m no saint..Joe & I went to pick her up from where she was living in A.C. We waited a/b an hour (w/jacki in a car seat)..She was a mess. I said I could not take her into my parents house..All we needed to do was drop off a pie!! In the mean time.. Gia got out of the car and thumb-it to Kathleen's. She got there before us!! So as I said before...It was a good thing I was pregnant w/Jess..B/C I yelled at her so bad...(If i wasn't pregnant) she would have beat the life out of me!! But afterwards....Joe said ... She liked that b/c I stood up to her... No one ever did that before!! I will never foget that! I know it didn't save her...but, she, then knew I loved her!!

Linda
Its great that you have come on the board. If any good thing came out of Icon being on the board it was that you joined it.
Thanks for the memories you have. It means a lot that someone who was around can share them with us.

My greatest memory ... but, she, then knew I loved her!! Thank you Linda for sharing your memories. I’m sure your honesty and tough love did much to help her get her life together and she did. She accomplished her greatest goal in overcoming heroin. She died drug free. AIDS killed Gia not heroin and certainly not herself. She was not self-destructive. JL
