Hello I am still fairly new to this board, but I notice alot of people who post on here knew Gia in one way or another. Would you (the people who knew her somehow) be able to re-introduce yourselves and say a little bit about how you knew Gia? I am familiar with John and Rob Fay's association (thanks guys), but not so much with everyone else. Thanks! Jules

Hi again, I'm not sure why nobody has responded to my post? I thought that a few people who were on here, actually knew her. It would help in reading past replies, so I could see how their relationship relates to their posts. I don't want to assume that nobody knew her, but at this point, I feel that the only ones on here who truly did were Linda, Kathleen, Rob Fay and John Long. Thanks for your replies in the past, Julie

Linda and JL often check in on the board. I know Rob Fay and Kathleen don't come on the board. I'm sure JL and Linda can help answer some of your questions. If you look back to some of the older posts they have shared some great memories of Gia with us. I'm sure they will continue to do so.

rob fay sent an email to me and said he was touched by what I wrote on the website mari designed. I heard from him twice after than. Then mari sent a private message to me saying she read the post and tried to send an email, but it was returned. I don't have a clue as to what I wrote, but it seems like when I ask them what it was, they won't or can't tell me. I am constantly writing. emails, post, creating files on people at work, documenting each file. So there is no way I would remember. If they would like to tell me what it was. I would greatly appreciate it,

I would certainly be happy if someone who knew Gia would be so kind as to talk to me about her. I have many questions. My wife and I are from Philly and raised three children during the same time that Gia grew up. It was not a good time.
Thanks all.

hi jtw..can I ask why it was not a good time in philly. I'm afraid Gia's family and friends no longer post here.. I loved hearing about the ancedotes on Gia's life. The insight was amazing. Harsh words were said on this board and many people have left.. very sad. Even Kathleen Gia's mom would post once in awhile.

Hi Redheaded,
I can't believe someone answered... Thank you. What I meant was their were to many extraneous things available to anyone who had serious issues and was out of control like Gia. Her parents totally neglected her from day one. I'm not being negative but trying to make people understand that Gia got no help from anyone including the "model industry". Why for instance did most all of the high priced photographers get her clothes off first thing and take pictures? For art? She was only 17/18 years old! I feel so sad that she endured so much mental and physical pain. She was the most beautiful women (actually a teen) that I have ever seen. Still I have yet to see any fashion models who compare with her beauty. She truly was the first and last "super model". I hope what I have said is not to heavy. Hope to hear from you again.
Regards,
jtw

Hey JTW, Did you know Gia ? I'm curious because you're sounding like you actually knew her. I think fame is wonderful but it seems to lead such young people down the wrong road. For example Heath Ledger heavily into drugs and an amazing actor but he succumbed to his addiction. Tragic and sad. Gia was gorgeous and one of the top models during her time but she was addicted to heroin. I thought about getting my daughter into acting and commercials because she is so expressive and talented. And then I think omg would she self -destruct. I feel for Gia's family I can't imagine losing a child so young // Kathleen, Joe and Michael my heart does go out to them.

Hello again,
No I did not know her but I have read and researched so much that I am becoming expert on her. You see I was born in Philly and raised three children at the same time Gia was growing up. Also quite familar with AC. As I said before Gia lacked three things in her whole life which is essential to make her strong. Unconditional love, unconditional support and disipline. Her parents supplied none. Brooke Shields's mother never left her side when she was modeling in New York. Would you allow your daughter to move to NYC at 17/18 alone? I don't think so. I think Gia is the most beautiful women I have ever seen (I have only seen her photos). She had a persona which no one has since. Look at the current Vogue etc. and you will see a "pretty" women but nothing like the beauty and mystery Gia had. Talk to you later.

Gia had inner-beauty and she was gorgeous and this came through on each photo. I don't think I have ever seen a horrible photo Gia.. The vulnerability and coolness came through each photograph. You're right I would never let my 17 year-old daughter go to a strange city and model. I would certainly be by her side trying to make sure she would not fall into the downward spiral that success can cause if you're not careful.

Hey Supermodel,
Where do you live? I guess I have appointed myself Gia's defender because most of her associates in the business have really not said much on her behalf. In the last Scavullo photo Gia looked sick. But your right still beautiful. I think her gay-ism also made her more appealing too. I guess I am just a sentimental old guy who should worry about other things and not someone who is gone these many years. I noticed that Janice Dickinson mentioned Gia on her show about three weeks ago.
Talk to you later.

I think Janice did like Gia..she respected her... and when no one tried to help her especially her agency Janice felt guilty...just my thoughts...
